Laura co-founded SocialCode to provide the world’s most valuable brands with tools to build valuable communities over social media. She continues to work closely with clients to develop innovative ways to achieve social advertising goals. Prior to SocialCode, she ran business development and product strategy for the Slate Group, focusing on advertising product development and strategic partnerships. Laura holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
John leads the company’s day-to-day business operations, driving responsiveness and operational efficiency. Prior to joining SocialCode, John was the general manager of The Slate Group and publisher of Slate, the award-winning online magazine. Previously at The Washington Post Company (now Graham Holdings Company), John served as VP of business development for digital properties including WashingtonPost.com, Newsweek.com, and Slate.com. He received his MBA at Columbia Business School and undergraduate degree from Harvard College. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, daughter and cattle dog, Lola.
Steve brings to SocialCode over 25 years of experience in building great software teams, designing complex systems, and delivering products on time. He leads a team of engineers and developers focused on building advanced advertising technology, analytics and API integrations that empower marketers to connect with consumers across social platforms. Prior to joining SocialCode, Steve was most recently CTO of Dashbox, a leading provider of SaaS music licensing workflow and audio asset management software and services.
Todd joins SocialCode to extend the portfolio of products which help brands make more meaningful consumer connections. Previously GM of Marketing Services at Acxiom, he brings 15+ years of experience creating identity management, analytics, and marketing automation solutions. A passionate entrepreneur, Todd founded two venture-back companies – BuzzLogic, the first Saas solution for social listening, and Aditive, the social marketing platform acquired by Acxiom.
Dan Federico leads SocialCode’s finance and accounting teams, helping to keep the company financially secure as we grow in terms of employees and revenue. He brings more than a decade of experience to the job, including extensive operational and financial experience in fast-paced tech companies. Before SocialCode, he was most recently the VP of finance for LivingSocial, Inc.
Max joined SocialCode to oversee corporate marketing, product marketing, thought leadership and PR. Prior to SocialCode, Max led marketing and industry relations for some of the most innovative companies in digital marketing software and analytics including Clickable (acquired by Syncapse in 2012), BuzzMetrics (acquired by Nielsen in 2007) and comScore. He also serves on the Wharton Future of Advertising Program’s global advisory board. He received his B.S. from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. He lives in Pelham Manor, New York with his wife, sons and daughter.
Cary joined SocialCode to guide business and partnership development and maximize clients’ social strategy. She previously worked in the ad innovations group at Washington Post Digital (now Graham Holdings Company), where she developed breakthrough solutions for partners, including custom content, brand integration, audience extension and unique executions. Cary also has roots in the agency world as a former Mullen employee. She holds a Masters in Communications, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Business from Wake Forest University.
John Terrana is SocialCode’s General Manager of Advanced Solutions, a key leader on SocialCode’s client services team. He is our go-to strategist, overseeing huge international campaigns and efficiently managing millions of ad spend dollars to outperform against our client’s ROI goals.
Sarah joined SocialCode with the goal of propelling the strategic services arm of the business. Today she leads the Advanced Solutions team, and is dedicated to providing best-in-class service, guidance and execution to the most valuable brands on the platform. Prior to SocialCode, Sarah led account services in a number of creative agencies – most recently at Deutsch, where she was focused on building cross-channel strategies from corporate to small business initiatives.
Ken leads the company’s efforts in establishing key strategic partnerships to drive growth. Prior to joining SocialCode, Ken spent 15 years working in the online media space, and has been involved in programmatic media since it’s inception. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Business Development for Neustar, where he helped manage and evolve their digital data and analytics business into the fastest growing business line at the company. Prior to that, Ken worked in various business development roles with TargusInfo, Lucidmedia, Washington Post Interactive, and TV Guide. He holds an M.B.A. from the Eller School at the University of Arizona, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Ken lives in Vienna, VA with his wife Natalia and two daughters Alexandra and Camryn.
Jon leads the Ad Management team, which is responsible for execution, optimization and strategic analysis of media buys. Prior to joining SocialCode, Jon spent five years at Google in a variety of roles including sales analyst, YouTube ad commercialization, and manager of Waze ad operations. Jon has worked across nearly every advertiser vertical and with budgets large and small, but he always remains focused on driving efficient business results for the end customer. He received his MBA from Wharton, and has a BA in Literature from Duke University. Jon lives with his family and two cats in New York City.
Peter leads SocialCode’s platform partnerships and strategy to maximize client performance, innovation and revenue growth. He has over 13 years of experience in digital media, performance advertising and consumer mobile apps, working with the world’s largest consumer Internet brands. Prior to SocialCode, he was the Head of Solutions at Clickable (acquired by Syncapse) and was a Managing Director at LinkShare (acquired by Rakuten.) Most recently he founded Swaag, a leading sneaker and fashion community featured by Apple. He holds a BBA in marketing from George Washington University, and is on the board of its alumni for the Entertainment, Media and Marketing Association. He lives in New York city with his wife.
Caitlin started her career in digital advertising at Collective Media, where she molded the sales planner role as the 31st employee of the company. She moved into sales and quickly became one of the top sales executives for four consecutive years. Prior to joining SocialCode, Caitlin was VP of sales and development for Federated Media, where she took part in 3 company mergers under the parent company, Media General. Caitlin has lived all over the US, from Seattle to Philadelphia, and has been in NYC for the last 10 years. Caitlin loves to travel, explore new restaurants in the city and discover the latest fitness craves (SLT and Fhitting Room current favorites). She and her husband reside on the upper west side with their bulldog, Brutus.
Mike leads SocialCode’s Technical Operations team, composed of engineers who keep our systems humming. Mike has extensive experience leading diverse technical teams including cloud operations, systems and network administration, security and software development. He has specialized in leading teams at software development organizations. He started his career as an electronics technician in the United States Air Force and is a graduate of Southern Illinois University.
Spiro joined SocialCode via Trove, where he led product development as VP of Engineering. He joined Graham Holdings (then the Washington Post Company) as part of its nascent WaPo Labs group in 2009, which shipped a variety of products from platform services to consumer-facing applications. Prior to Labs, he was director of technology at Folio Investing, where he led teams that developed the patented online trading system, including the licensing and customization of the investing platform for international markets.
When he's not at work, he keeps busy training as a black belt in Shotokan Karate, trying to find time to read the weekend newspaper, and dreaming about the days when his kids will be old enough to travel the world together. Spiro is proud that his ancient forbears invented democracy, philosophy, and modern civilization, and he promises never to code a Trojan horse.
Ylang leads product management for applications at SocialCode. She comes via the acquisition of Trove, where she oversaw marketing and product management. Ylang brings over 10 years experience in marketing tech and creative, having worked at AKQA, DigitasLBi, and e-Dialog (now Zeta Interactive), building digital experiences for Fortune 500 brands. Seeing and understanding different cultures is a passion of hers, leading her to work and study around the globe, including stints in Paris, Singapore, London, Montreal, and New York. Today, she lives in the Washington DC area with her husband and 3 boys. She holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA from McGill University.
Brian leads SocialCode's platform engineering team, encompassing data warehousing and reporting, analytics, and APIs. He joined SocialCode as part of the Trove integration, where he was the VP of Platform Engineering and led Trove's San Francisco office. Prior to Trove, he was an early employee at iCurrent, a personalized news startup subsequently acquired by WapoLabs (part of the Washington Post Company) in 2010.
Brian has a BS in Computer Engineering and an MS in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University, and lives in Oakland with his wife and two kids.
Lea leads SocialCode's accounting and finance teams, where she manages the overall financial health of the company.
Lea has over 10 years' experience in the media industry. Most recently, she served as Director at Discovery Communications where she led the accounting team for Digital Media, Commerce and Education. She previously held management level positions in finance and accounting at The Washington Post Company. She graduated from Mount St. Mary's University and lives in Maryland with her husband, son and daughter.
Tracey leads People Operations, an effort she began in 2012 as a part-time employee, before joining full-time in January to lead the rapidly growing team. Tracey’s built her HR chops primarily in the digital media space (Slate, NPR, The Washington Post) with her core expertise in employee relations and retention. She graduated from James Madison University and lives in South Arlington with her husband.
